Explore Dharug Country at a pace that suits you

Heritage Valley Café

The Heritage Valley Café is located just 100m from reception and is the perfect pit stop for a mid-morning tea or coffee with cake, a warm delicious breakfast or a long-lunch. Enjoy the undercover patio which offers sweeping views of the famous Wisemans Ferry riverbend and the west facing sandstone cliffs which turn a burnt orange late into the afternoon.

Dharug National Park

Dharug National Park bordering Wisemans Ferry is home to many ancient sites one being Hangman's Rock, a comfortably 2km return bush walk right near the property. It’s just one of the many trails in the region, perfect for a weekend stroll or mountain bike adventure. Just one of many reasons to come and enjoy what the Hawkesbury region has to offer.

Wisemans Ferry Inn

Perched on the banks of the Hawkesbury River since 1822 and just 50m from the Retreat at Wisemans the Wisemans Ferry Inn is the perfect place to catch up with friends over an afternoon drink. The bistro proudly serves quality meals from local providers including family-owned cattle farms and paddock to plate produce sources. With amenities to keep the entire family entertained including pool table and playground.

Fords Farm

Come and experience one of the most popular drawcards to the region in mandarin picking at Fords Farm, just 17 minutes from the Retreat at Wisemans. Fords Farm is one of many orchards located in the Wisemans Ferry region and has been a "pick your own" orchard for 20 years. When you make it out to the property don't forget to pick-up some sheep food at the entrance for the resident flock - it's a hit with the kids!

River Activities

In a valley protected by headlands on all sides the Hawkesbury waterways are sheltered from prevailing winds, ideal for wakeboarding, fishing and days out on the water. This easily accessible region has been a secret pocket of Sydney's water sports for just that reason. Let us help create your ultimate weekend on the river.
